A Brief History:After my birth in the arid desert of Las Cruces, New Mexico, I spent the rest of my youth in several different states, including Arizona, Utah, Louisiana, Idaho, Virginia, Texas, and Ohio. I returned to New Mexico in time for high school and graduated from Las Cruces High School (Go Dawgs!).
After a decade-long stint in retail management, I chose to follow in my mother's footsteps and try teaching. I graduated from NMHU in 2006 with my teaching credential (and Honors, of course) and began my first job in middle school science. Knowing I had much to learn, I then enrolled in WGU and earned my master's degree two years later in science education. I learned much about the field of science education and how science should really be taught (which I have also successfully applied to math teaching).I have taught math and science for about 3 years each in New Mexico and, recently, Oregon. My adventurous family and I love North Carolina so far, and I feel very welcome here at Community House Middle School. I live with my beautiful wife, my two teenaged daughters, my baby grandson, and my weird pets!
